Each pedal touches on a similar idea but approaches it differently- AM 'does chorus very right', and Luxe does very cool poly detune. Dialing down the vibe of the AM didn't make it sound like the Luxe, and dialing up the detune/level of the Luxe didn't sound much like the AM. This comparison highlighted the 'constant' nature of the Luxe detune. The AM chorus is beautifully rich and full, tolerates signal chain changes surprisingly well, and is adjustable for a wide range of vibe and character. Update2: I mentioned this pedal to a friend, and was asked "how does it compare to a *really good* chorus?" - the helpful friend lent me an analog man 2-knob chorus. But - for the lovely noise I'll add a snarl of additional wire to my pedal board (and toss my old chorus pedals out to Craigslist) - J Update1: it works with the 300ma output of the Pedal Power ISO-5, but not with the lower current rated ports. I've not tested to see if a high-current cable can make it work with my Pedal-Power supply (it definitely doesn't work with it 'stock'). My sole complaint is that it requires use of the supplied wall-wart (apparently it draws a lot of 9v). Includes level and detune controls, true bypass circuitry and a 9V DC power supply.

Provides a consistent 'thickening' to your signal without the modulating side effects of a chorus pedal. I especially like the subtle end of the range for jazzing up single-coils (even all the way to 'ersatz 12-string' if you need it). The Digitech Luxe takes the detune effect from the popular Whammy product line and adds positive and negative detune capabilities. From "sparkle like new strings" to a "full-on twang" up through "enough with the martian noises already" there is a lot of fun in the box. Alth ough not an "always on" effect, most people will find it addictive. After watching to the "puff piece" videos on youtube, (recommended) I decided to give this a try. While I like chorus as an effect, I really don't like how touchy they can be, most I've tried have very small 'sweet spots' that aren't tolerant of significant changes elsewhere in the signal chain.
